Harvard Library Learns! is a one-day summit devoted to enriching the culture of learning and professional development across the libraries.

Have you ever wondered about what goes on in other units in the library? Interested in exploring career pathways? Looking for new ideas to enhance your work? This summit is an opportunity for you to step outside your every day routine and learn across the diverse Harvard Library organization.

Harvard Library Learns! will be held at the Graduate School of Design, Gund Hall, on March 21, 2019.

8:30am Breakfast

Session 1 (10:30am-noon):

Session 2 (1:15-2:45pm):

  • Ways to Learn on the Job
  • Engaging with Critical Pedagogy in Practice
  • Individual Presentations: Even a Small Project Deserves a Project Plan!; Make, Play & Learn - Designing Hands-On Pop Up Workshops; Digital Collections UX: Learning From a Participant Panel & Prototype Testing

Session 3 (3-4:30pm):

  • Joining and Serving in Professional Organizations
  • Research Data Services Landscape at Harvard Library
  • To Serve the University: Documenting the Harvard Community through Collaboration and Outreach
  • Individual Presentations: Media & Workshop Series Pilot; Finding New Opportunities: A Multi-Level Partnership with the Office of Career Advancement; Biodiversity Heritage Library - A User-Centered Digital Research Library
