With the proliferation of data visualizations in the media and academic publications, it’s more important than ever to be an informed and critical consumer of others’ data visualizations — in other words, don’t be fooled by the flashy graphs. In this workshop, we’ll discuss how easy it is to accidentally fool yourself and others with data visualizations, especially when when using some of the new, powerful data visualization tools (available free, online, and usable with little-to-no training).
