Research Data Management Advanced Online Seminar
Which file did you just use for that outstanding research finding? Was it version_4 or version_4a? Your research team is asking you, do you remember?
Building a system for active project version control can help keep track of all sorts of files, including text documents and analysis code. By utilizing a version control system, you can track and merge edits, roll back to a previous version, and make sure everyone is using the most current version. Several version control systems exist, and this presentation will include an overview of multiple approaches, including using Git.
After attending this sessions, you will have a better understanding of how version control can help manage your workflow, either individually or in group projects, and have ideas for how to start using a version control system.
