Citation metrics & impact factors for research papers and journals are occasionally helpful, but more often misunderstood and misused.

The publication frequency of specific subject areas, including the geographic location and population groups are direct indicators of where varying levels of attention is being directed over time.

Understanding these trends in publication activity helps to identify the focal points (and gaps) in access to current knowledge and scholarly research in the biomedical & health sciences.

Bibliometric tools are essential resources in asking specific questions about research publishing trends.

This 1 hour overview will introduce you to VOSviewer & BiblioMetrix to help you get started with bibliometrics data analysis.
