Data Management Plan Review Service

Harvard Library Research Data Services provides consultation and feedback for the interpretation of data management and sharing policies for data management plans.

REQUEST A DMP REVIEW

We partner with research librarians, reserach computing offices, and other service providers to review data management plans created using the DMPTool. Login to DMPTool or create an account with your Harvard email address for access to Harvard-specific data management plan templates and guidance. 

Harvard students, faculty, and researchers may submit a request for a review here: https://harvard.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_doL99sPC4kBuYe2. Please be sure to submit your request at least two weeks prior to your submitting office’s proposal submission deadline so that we can provide you with the help you need well before your grant is due. We may not be able to accommodate requests made less than two weeks before the application is due. 

As part of the review, Harvard Library will provide expertise in data management-related pracrices and strategies to help researchers create and implement data mangement plans that meet expextations outlined by funders. This includes available metadata standards, data repositories, and recommended practices for implementing a data management strategy. 

Eligibility: This review services is available to all Harvard faculty, students, and researchers. Discipline specific data management support may also be available from your local School. Please contact the departments listed below to discuss your project's specific requirements. 

  • Harvard Medical School (HMS), Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM), and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (HSPH) researchers have access to biomedical specific data management support, including DMP review, through Countway Library
  • School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) researchers should reach out for local support at: https://rdm.seas.harvard.edu/
  • Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) offers a suite of data services that are available to affiliates.
